JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Media Officer.
Project / Department Title: Media & IT.
Direct supervisor / Reports to: Media & Cmmunications Focal Point.
Overall objective of the job:
The media officer will support our internal and external communications strategy. Produce, write, disseminate publicity material, and respond to inquiries from the public and media, and coordinate promotional events.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement an effective communications strategy.
- High-level coordination with all departments at the organization.
- Develop a monthly plan for the Media Department team in coordination with the line manager.
- Archiving and saving the media materials in a trusted way that guarantees their safety and security (in several copies).
- Submit daily, weekly and monthly work reports to the direct manager.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists and maintain a media database.
- Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the organization, and coordinate publicity events as required.
- Full media production and documentation (photographs, infographics, video graphics, stakeholder interviews, human stories, success stories, media reports, and all other designs)for all activities.
- Check the media raw materials and revise it.
- Produce multiple video graphic for the ongoing projects upon requests and needs.
- Design multiple infographic for the ongoing projects upon request and needs.
- Produce a video report for every project at the end of the main activities and project.
- Design a full infographic report for every project at the end of the main activities and project.
- Design all advertisements, posters, rollups, banners, brochures… etc. upon request.
- Production of the media materials for all campaigns.
- Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing material that communicates the organization’s activities, products and/or services.
- Maintain records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics.
- Identify target audiences and create strategies to effectively engage them.
- Respond to media inquiries, arrange interviews.
- Developing and executing the social media strategy.
- Any additional tasks related to the position as requested by the direct manager.
Qualifications:
- A university degree in Media & Communication or any relevant certificate.
- Proficiency in design and software (Adobe package: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere, and Audition).
- Proficiency in publishing platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter… etc.).
- Proficiency in editing and publishing on WordPress CMS.
Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of digital marketing tactics, such as SEO and email marketing.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems quickly and effectively.
- The ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint in a professional way.
- Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and verbal.
- Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good organizational, multitasking and time-management skills.
Experiences:
- 4 years of experience in the same field of work.
- 4 years of experience in Adobe package software.
- 1 year of experience in the same field of non-profit organizations.
- Proven administrative and IT skills, and an ability to maintain accurate records.
- Proven experience and knowledge with digital & professional media equipment.
Required Training:
Adobe package software training.
Filmmaking – Professional photography and media reports.
Physical and personality traits required:
- Flexible and able to work well under pressure
- Capable of working collaboratively with team members to achieve objectives.
