JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Project Officer – VET
Project / Department Title: FSL
Direct supervisor / Reports to: Livelihood Program Coordinator
Overall objective of the job:
Follow up the technical veterinary tasks in the livestock projects.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- In coordination with L.H program coordinator, follow up the livestock activities in the projects.
- Provide the progress update for livestock activities to L.H program coordinator.
- Writing weekly reports for implemented of livestock activities to L.H program coordinator.
- Provide the technical support for livestock projects’ officers in Turkey.
- Follow up the livestock activities plans adopted from L.H program coordinator with vets in Syria.
- Attend the livestock meeting with donor.
- Follow up the data and documentation of livestock projects.
- Performs other assigned tasks within the overall scope of his/her role.
Qualifications:
- PHD/Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in veterinary.
- Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint in a professional way.
Experiences & Abilities:
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in veterinary field activities.
- Excellent knowledge of the Humanitarian Reform process and the role of the humanitarian community (UN System and NGO).
- Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in planning and problem-solving.
- Excellent oral communication and written English skills required.
- Applied knowledge in program management, project formulation, its program cycles, and reporting standards.
- Program planning and management skills.
- Commitment to IYD core value and principles.
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and representation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
- Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good organizational, multitasking and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a diverse range of people.
- Proven administrative and IT skills, and an ability to maintain accurate records.
Physical and personality traits required:
- Ability to travel to field locations.
- Flexible and able to work well under pressure
- Capable of working collaboratively with team members to achieve objectives.
