IYD is a Turkish, non-governmental, non-profit and has no political association working in various fields of humanitarian relief, development, and education.

IYD was established early 2013 in Turkey, so that, it has become by the end of 2016 spread out over different areas in both Syria and Turkey.

IYD was registered in 2014 with a license No. (34-203/022) and it has been working according to Turkish Organizations Law No. /5253/ under the name:  ULUSLARARASI INSANI YARDIMLAŞMA DERNEĞI

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Manager of Grants and Partnerships

Project / Department Title: Grants and Partnerships Management

Direct supervisor / Reports to: Executive Director

Overall objective of the job:  To bring in and maintain funding from donors and to maintain the relationships with them by meeting their needs through reports and information relating to their projects. Additionally, it is required to coordinate between the existing programs of the organization and the donors.

Main tasks:

  • To maintain a relationship with the donors and to coordinate to find new donors that have to do with the strategies of the Commission.
  • To prepare budget estimate for projects that are expected to be approved by donors and to implement them in coordination with the concerned department.
  • To work on the continuous development in order to keep up with the latest modern technology in the field of grant-management.
  • To create actual and estimated comparative analysis for projects on the level of each item of the estimated program. To study the deviations and its causes, with studying financial management, monitoring management, and the organization’s evaluation.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To carry out basic administrative processes (planning, organization, guidance, evaluation, follow-up and evaluation) for grant management and staff.
  • Managing the staff of the Grants Department, as well as following up, evaluating their performance and submitting periodic reports to the Department on the matter.
  • To prepare the annual and monthly operating plan for Grant Management in the institution.
  • To participate in identifying the needs required to implement the operational plan from all the following parties: financial or human resources, contracts, partnerships or development programs.
  • To ensure that project activities are carried out as planned and in accordance with quality standards and within the specific time and financial schedule of the donors.
  • Establishing databases for new projects to be marketed.
  • To cooperate with the Executive Director and to lead the process of developing proposals and concepts that fit the objectives and strategy of the Commission.
  • To develop and write the concept note and proposals in cooperation with the program managers.
  • To introduce new development projects and strategic plans.
  • To attend the interviews’ committees for the appointment of the cadres of the Administration of Grants and Partnerships.
  • To monitor and evaluate the activities of all projects
  • Supervising the preparation of all narrative reports of projects on activities and achievements.
  • To follow-up with the attendance of project officials in the Commission meetings for all donors and to represent the Organization in these meetings.
  • To hold regular meetings with the team to discuss work plans and implementation mechanisms.
  • Supervising paper and electronic archiving works.
  • Following up with the optimal arrival of the assistance to the beneficiaries for all projects.
  • To preform relevant work and duties.
  • Coordination with the media department and all other sections of the institution.
  • Making analytical comparisons of projects at the level of each project item with the actual estimate and studying the deviations and their causes.
  • Implement any other directives or responsibilities assigned by the Executive Director.
  • To fully coordinate with the Monitoring and Evaluation Section to ensure the quality of project implementation.
  • Graphic mapping of funding opportunities tailored to the Commission’s strategy.
  • To ensure the quality of report-writing; to meet the needs of the donor as well as ensure on-time in delivery cooperation with the members of the program and the Executive Director.
  • To ensure the quality of the data collected and data management by the Commission.
  • Ensuring compliance with the donor and to submit reports according to the agreements.
  • To prepare and update the reporting plan and clarify deadlines.
  • Coordination of external reporting requirements per week, monthly or quarterly.
  • Develop grant-tracking tools and hold grant management meetings on a regular basis.
  • To look for new programs and funding opportunities to suit the strategy and plan of the Commission as well as coordinating with international NGOs, UN agencies, bilateral donors and others to obtain information on the nature of the donors and identify funding opportunities available.
  • Representation of the Commission in meetings with the donors.
  • To attend all related coordination meetings, to send reports and updates, and to highlight key issues that contribute to the processes of understanding and development
  • To represent the Commission in all relevant forums, such as the United Nations Coordination Office, donors and civil society organizations.

Qualifications:

  • A University level degree in Business administration, Economics or equivalent years of experiences in the field.
  • To have comprehensive knowledge of strategies and basic techniques to attract funding.
  • To get to know all donor institutions within the field of work.
  • To have comprehensive knowledge about the regulations, laws and policies of the institutions and donors.
  • To have comprehensive knowledge of all sectors of the enterprise (water related – agricultural – animal related- food distribution – education)

Abilities:

Experiences:

  • Experience of at least three years in developing proposals, logical framework and reporting to donors (ECHO, DFID, FFP, OFDA, etc.)
  • Previous experience in bringing funding to non-profit organizations.
  • Experience in developing and monitoring budgets.
  • Experience in leading strategic projects, project planning, and a comprehensive understanding of food, water, sanitation, shelter, protection, education and cash-based programs.
  • Administrative experience and the ability to lead and motivate the team to reach the desired results.
  • Ability to represent and manage relationships with a number of donors.
  • Experience working with international non-governmental organizations, providing programs, information management as well as experience with communication aimed at supporting humanitarian programs.
  • Experiences in writing in English.
  • Experience in computer work such as Office programs (Word and Excel) with the ability to analyze data and statistical information.
  • Ability to withstand work pressure and prioritize according to shifting program needs.
  • An understanding of general issues, including gender issues and child protection.
